Southern Travellers Update
Only three events remain for the 2018 GP14Southern Travellers with a traditional mixture of sea, river and pond sailing so there must be something for everyone!
There were over 20 Southern boats at the Worlds down in Mounts Bay so hopefully everyone has now recovered and can be tempted to join us at one of the GP14 Open meetings in our area.
1)Erith YC – Sunday 16th September
We start with sea sailing at Erith YC on Sunday 16th September – Please note date as it has been incorrectly advertised in some places . There will be three or four races as part of the Erith YC Sunday regatta. There will be a 11.00 briefing and a start approximately at 12.30 with races back to back. Committee boat starts.
2)Hampton SC – Sunday 23rd September
Next will be our annual trip to the upper reaches of the Thames on Sunday 23rd September to join the keen fleet of GP14 sailors at Hampton. Probable start time is 11.00 with a civilised single race before lunch and two after. Briefing is at 10.15 or so
3)Frensham Pond SC- Sunday 7th October
Our last event on Sunday 7th October is our traditional visit to the beautiful lake at Frensham Pond just south of Farnham . With a large and growing local fleet there should be a good number of boats on the start line with good competition at all levels . Minimum of three races with a break for lunch and committee boat starts briefing at 10.15 with a first start at 11.00. This is the last qualifying event for the 2018 season so make sure you are there.
2018 Prizegiving – Saturday 27th October at Welsh Harp SC, Wembley
Prizegiving will take place on the 27th October at Welsh Harp SC at Brent Reservoir in Wembley after the Victor Trophy GP14 Open meeting. This will actually be the first qualifying event for the 2019 season so do come along and get a result in early so you can relax after Christmas !
