UPDATE Friday 21st June
Only two Association Members have expressed interest, and both have reluctantly had to withdraw because of other commitments, but have asked to be kept informed if it is rearranged because they remain very keen. We also have few takers from the home club, and we now have a forecast of significant rain plus a Yellow Warning of thunderstorms. We have therefore cancelled the event, but if it is rescheduled later we will advise those who have expressed interest, and will also invite any others interested.
Upriver Cruise, for club members but with a warm open invitation to GP14 Class Association members to join the event.
Please note the change of date; the later tide on this new date will allow us a better event.
Launch time to be advised nearer the time, but expect between 1400 and 1430. ETA back at the club c. 1830 – 1900.
Cruise upriver on the flood, potentially as far as the Runcorn bridges, returning on the ebb, so sailing with the tide in both directions. Around 10 miles each way, of pleasant semi-rural scenery on the northern bank and a distant industrial background on the southern bank. Estuary almost 3 miles wide at the club, and for most of the passage, narrowing to a few hundred yards by the time we reach the bridges.
