Last time we went to Looe it was for the 2012 Worlds which had 127 boats compete and was shortlisted for Yachts and Yachting event of the year (we lost out to the Olympics!)
In 2017 we are back but for a Nationals so we are looking to keep the event a little more intimate and use the Club facilities rather than the fish market which would need us to guarantee 100+ entry.
This is proving to be a popular event and we have managed to secure a few more places over the original allocation of 70 boats. So you better get in there quick! The sponsorship roster for the event is also fast filling up, so you know you will be getting post race beer and some fantastic daily prizes (as well as the infamous Naff Awards!)
Taking on board feedback from this year’s events we are also working closer with the Training team and we are pleased to announce that there will be two days of sea training directly prior to the event on Friday 04 and Saturday 05 August. This will give you a great opportunity to find your sea legs, test out the course and ensure you hit the ground running as soon as the event begins.

If you are new to the GP14 Championship circuit we think it’s super but don’t just take our word for it, Nick Craig did the Worlds in 2016 and is hooked!
“We had a great time at the GP14 Worlds, as well as the fantastic conditions in Barbados, we really enjoyed the close, high quality racing that the GP14 offers. Mistakes were punished and places hard to recover which is how we like it!
“Off the water, the fleet is very friendly and like a few drinks so we had a great time and we will certainly be back for more.”
